The Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen is designed for calligraphy and brush lettering beginners who are unfamiliar with a brush pen for writing hand lettering. Its special processed tip has a hard elastomer (resin) core which can be written with an average pressure (approximately 250g), just like the pressure you used with a ballpoint pen or a gel pen. There is no risk that the flexible tip will break even with more pressure.

My New Go To

Brought this to experiment with for doodling and caligraphy. It's ended up becoming my go to pen for writing instead.

The firm brush allows you to easily use the tip for fine lettering, and then apply pressure for bold strokes. This one pen has saved me having to swap back and forth between a fine and bold pen when taking notes.

Fudenosuke Hard Tip

I really enjoy using this pen! This tip is great for really small writing in calligraphy, which is hard to achieve using a brush pen like this, I'm really impressed. If you are a beginner to calligraphy or prefer larger handwriting, I recommend you get the soft tip as it produces larger letters and is easier to use if you don't have much experience with calligraphy.
