Excellent every day carry option for marking up notes

I already use the Kokuyo Enpitsu as my daily carry mechanical pencil for writing. The red pencil is idea for marking up my notes and helps me in proof-checking. The red core is more waxy and behaves like a colour pencil rather than a graphite pencil so the red pencil isn't suited for writing.

Kokuyo Enpitsu Mechanical Pencil - 1.3mm RED

I purchased this Kokuyo mechanical pencil thinking it might provide an erasable alternate to marking edits in red pen.

The body is a simple and minimalist design, a very light plastic body with a standard push-down click mechanism to extend the lead.

The lead colour is very close to an orange, and at most could be accurately described as a red-orange. It requires moderate to strong pressure to mark the paper, and feels waxy as it traces on the paper. It is a soft strength colour.

I would recommend this if you're after an affordable minimalist red mech pen, and if you're after a pen that will do smooth soft shading. However, if you're after a richer red with stronger/richer application for wiriting it would be better to invest more in a colour mech pen of higher quality.
